Saborea Menorca is an experience focused on the sea and its fruits, where you can get to know the traditional gastronomy of Menorca from its origin, through a tour of the island’s coastline on board the most representative boat in our territory.
The menu, created by the Can Bernat d’Es Grau restaurant, offers current recipes for market cuisine, made with the best seafood and fresh fish, locally sourced and obtained through traditional fishing.

Traditional Menorcan cuisine is a legacy passed down through generations, and is characterized by its humility and simplicity, leaving all the prominence to fresh, seasonal and local raw materials. Over the centuries, and due to the limited resources of the island, Menorcan cuisine has evolved into a subsistence cuisine in which all the resources offered by both land and sea are used to the maximum.

In Menorca, the sea has always been present on the tables of its inhabitants. The island has the perfect conditions for mollusks, such as clams and mussels, a large assortment of crustaceans such as the exquisite lobster, prawns or crabs, and a wide variety of blue, white and rock fish. The quality of all these magnificent products of local origin, fundamental ingredients in numerous recipes, have given way to a healthy, balanced and sustainable diet.

DETAILS OF THE EXPERIENCE

The Saborea Menorca evening begins at our mooring in the Port of Mahon. There you will be received by Jordi, skipper from Menorca en Llaut, and by the chef. Once installed, we will set sail and sail enjoying the sunset with a welcome glass of cava.

Our route through the port will take us to the muscleres, some floating structures with ropes where mussels grow. Mussel farming was introduced in Menorca at the beginning of the 20th century, and the Port of Mahón has optimal conditions for obtaining an exceptional quality product. We will take advantage of this point of the tour to serve a tasting of mussels and oysters.

We will continue our itinerary skirting the Illa del Rei and Illa del Llatzeret, and we will anchor to make way for dinner.

Throughout the service, the chef will offer you a detailed explanation of each of the dishes and the origin of their products.To start we will serve a round of appetizers, consisting of 3 traditional dishes from the island where seafood is the real protagonist.

Next, we will serve the main dish, the most emblematic recipe of traditional Menorcan cuisine: Lobster Stew. A dish created by the island’s fishermen, and improved over the generations by local chefs, whose name refers to the clay pot or “tià” in which the recipe is made.

Finally, we will close the evening with anopen bar service of wines and Gin Tonics Xoriguer, to enjoy an unforgettable after-dinner meal under the stars.

Additional information

  • The hiring of the Saborea Menorca experience includes a professional skipper, chef and waiter.
  • For groups of more than 6 people, an additional second boat will be used.
  • All contracts include Liability Insurance, safety equipment and first aid kit.
  • VAT included in the price.
  • If there are food intolerances or allergies to consider, please notify us on the reservation form.

Booking and contracting

  • The Saborea Menorca experience must be contracted a minimum of 3 days in advance.

How to book?

Payments

  • To formalize a Saborea Menorca reservation, an advance payment of 30% of the total reservation amount must be made.
  • The client will be informed via email of the different payment methods to pay the advance.
  • The remaining 70% of the amount will be paid on the day of the experience, before boarding.

Cancellations

  • By the customer.If you want to cancel your reservation, contact us as soon as possible. Call us at (+34) 667 903 557. or write to us at info@menorcaenllaut.com.
  • If the cancellation is made more than 72 hours (3 days) in advance, or is due to illness or justified causes, 20% of the total amount of the reservation will be refunded. The remaining 10% will go to cover the costs of the raw material.
  • If the cancellation is made less than 72 hours in advance (3 days), or isn’t due to a duly justified reason, the client will not be reimbursed for the advance.

  • For meteorological causes.The activity is conditioned by the meteorology. If we consider that the weather conditions are not optimal to enjoy a great evening, the date may be changed within the same season, or 20% of the total amount of the reservation will be refunded. The remaining 10% will go to cover the costs of the raw material.
  • By Saborea Menorca.In case of cancellation due to boat damage, or unavailability of the skipper, the full amount of the advance will be returned to the customer, or a change in departure date will be agreed upon, if the client wishes.
